Why Supported Living?

The biggest worry for families of PwMIs is “Who After Me?” Parents provide unmatched care, but expecting the same from others is unrealistic. A family-run assisted living model like SSIL, ensures PwMIs receive lifetime support in a home-like environment. Staying within a family-like setting is therapeutic, preventing relapses and homelessness. Supported living guarantees dignity, stability, and continuous care—even when families are no longer there.

Lifetime Care at SSIL

Caring for a PwMI is a lifelong commitment, ensuring treatment, rehabilitation, and daily support. While families provide this care, the reality of nuclear families, dispersed relatives, and busy lives makes long-term support uncertain. The question “Who will be there for them?” weighs on every caregiver’s mind.

Sumana Trust addresses this with a family-run assisted living model, offering lifelong care, dignity, and continuous support—just as parents would want for their loved ones.
